Environmental indicators Umweltkennzahlen
Environmentally-oriented indicators are defined for the relevant environmental aspects respectively the relevant environmental areas of activity.
Relevant environmental aspects
The relevant environmental aspects are derived from three sources: internal analyses, general environmental discussions, and the expectations of stakeholder groups. Relevant aspects are considered in the organisation's strategy and form a basis for goals and targets. Accordingly, performance is measured and assessed: environmental indicators!
Environmental indicators, env. goals and targets, and, thereby, the environmental aspects of the organisation's strategy are based on the corporate eco-balance or similar data, legal requirements, (environmental) costs as well as the expectations of key stakeholders.
Co-developed by E2 Eco-balance
Environmental indicators are often based on a corporate eco-balance or a similar approach, such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG). In the corporate eco-balance co-developed by E2 (according to Braunschweig/Müller-Wenk), important aspects of third parties, e.g. the provision of energy and the disposal of own waste, are included in the analysis in addition to the environmental impacts caused by the company itself. Furthermore, selected suppliers, transports or the use of products can also be considered.
